Supporting Writers You Like
Today, a link! From
mindyklasky over on LJ: How to Support Authors You Like.
Honestly, with so many fanfic writers publishing various non-fanfic things, I think we're really part of a very cool movement, more than a set of 'writers' and 'readers'. I don't think that writing fanfic is less of an art form or anything than writing for publishers--maybe someday I'll do a post about this--but writing for publishers who might pay you is a different set of challenges, and I really think we have to support each other when we do. This is especially true of niche markets, where there's not a lot of big money floating around.
